MARIANNE BRØNER
STAND #10
Marianne Brøner, painter and sculptor, was born in Aarhus in 1965 and debuted as an artist in 1995, since then she has had a large number of exhibitions at galleries, art associations and private and public institutions. Marianne is educated in form theory and image interpretation at Aarhus Academy, has received teaching at Aarhus Art Academy as well as drawing and perspective teaching with Henri Sørensen.
Her pictures can be described as graphically strong and brightly colored and she mainly works with the non-figurative motif. The paintings are created in the present, through the events that Marianne experiences in her everyday life, it can be everything from the sensuous very close impressions to the international problems and conflicts. Marianne lets the inspiration find its own way, so that the pictures paint themselves in their own way, and on this way, in the abstract image, a shadow of a motif that has crept in can often be sensed.
In terms of materials, Marianne does not allow herself to be limited either, because as she says herself, she has "been captured by the many possibilities and materials of the mixing technique". But it is mainly acrylic and oil paint on canvas that characterize her pictures.
Marianne's sculptures are clearly inspired by the primordial woman. It is the curved forms of the voluminous body that are interesting to Marianne, but also the idea of the ideals of the past and the god status of the woman and the mother. The figures are unique and built from a skeleton of wire, on which there are then many layers of plaster.
