PIA CHRISTENSEN

Pia Christensen is in her late 50s, a trained librarian and graphic artist, which she also work as. Pia has been painting since the teenage years. For the last 10 years, she has especially painted with acrylic on canvas. All the paintings at the Works Art Fair exhibition have been painted within the last year. All are painted on 4 cm deep canvases so they can hang without frames as the subject is painted around the edges.

Many of her paintings are based on her graphic background with straight lines, delimited fields and organic shapes. She seeks the simple and pure expression. Pia is very much into color schemes that would like to hit the trend of the time. The soul of the paintings lies in the color combinations.

The abstract form of expression invites you to immerse yourself in the thoughts and emotions that the paintings evoke. So maybe you see organic shapes and sharp lines, maybe you see a face or animal. It is up to you.
