From brain scientist to visual artist - about Lærke Egefjord

The Risskov-based doctor & visual artist Lærke Egefjord works with both watercolor and acrylic, and the motifs vary from the completely abstract to the fleeting expression of the croquy drawing, where the work process is intuitive and the style light and feminine.

Favorite motifs are nature, often based on the beach and forest in Risskov, animals & female bodies. The style can best be described as a wonderful, crazy mix of expressionism and impressionism, spiced with the colorist's curious play with the colors.

Most recently, she has had solo exhibitions at, among others, Danske Bank, DSB, Codan & Aarhus University Hospital.

With a background as a doctor and visual artist and with experience in brain research, the health aspects of culture and creativity are an area Lærke Egefjord explores and challenges in her daily practice through teaching and lectures under the heading 'Train your creative brain - how to strengthen your health through art & creative processes'.
