FELIPE FREDES

Felipe Fredes grew up in the desert, in the north of Chile. This experience dramatically shaped his spirit and character. His artistic career started as a photographer in Vienna in 2013 where he have taught himself darkroom printing and developing techniques. In 2015, he had private art training. During this time Felipe acquired the basics of oil painting, drawing, and sculpture. Since then, he have been exploring himself through experimenting with diverse materials, combining, for instance, silver gelatin printing and oil. 

Although Felipe Fredes work looks very diverse, it is all connected through the thread of existential questioning and the psychological strategies we use to cope with our mortality. Felipe feel his art is close to mythology and alchemy, which were the science of those times. Felipe want the viewer to dive into the mystery of life with his creations.
